Our Story

Coming from a family of handy men, Ryan grew up working with tools and helping in the family home repair, but really fell in love with Carpentry after building his first Lazy Susan in highschool shop class. After graduation, Ryan entered the Electrical trade, working on high-end Smart Home installs and full service replacements. Ryan credits his boss of many years, Dave, with a few important lessons during that time: keep a meticulous workspace, and respect the trust that comes when strangers let you in their home to do work.

In 2015, Ryan followed his urge to build, leaving the field of Electrical and making the move into Carpentry. Reigniting the lessons learned from growing up, and having the opportunity to mentor with a tenured craftsman, he fine-tuned his skills, and brought away the equally valuable and also infuriating mantra “think about it”- a strangely applicable term used to define every cut, every angle, every stock purchase, etc. before time, effort, or money is ever wasted. He also learned here a hawk-eyed attention to detail and how to create beautiful and lasting work.

Since 2019, Ryan has been on his own, nurturing RCNH Contracting from odd jobs to full-scale demolition and remodeling work. He has found success with many of his accounts coming via word-of-mouth and by repeat clientele. Ryan truly loves connecting with homeowners, attacking every job as though he were building in his own home.

In March of 2020, Ryan, his family, and his company relocated to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, looking to put down permanent roots in an area they love. He has been blessed so far to meet so many excited homeowners in the North Country looking to build anew or update their existing spaces. RCNH Contracting hopes that you will be one of them!
